Electrician warns of dangers in connecting high-power appliances to power strips
David Mingo, an electrician with 22 years of experience, has issued a warning regarding common electrical errors in domestic installations. He highlighted the danger of connecting multiple high-power appliances, such as washing machines and dishwashers, to a single power strip or extension cord.
According to Mingo, using a single power strip for these devices can cause excessive heating in the connections, potentially damaging the electrical installation and the plugs themselves. The risk is particularly high when both appliances operate simultaneously, subjecting the line to a load it was not designed to handle.
Additionally, the specialist advised against using extension cords for portable electric heaters, as these devices consume significant amounts of power over extended periods, further increasing the risk of overheating and electrical failure.
