Electricity Company of Ghana announces regional power outages

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, which will result in temporary power outages across several regions.

In the Ashanti Region, outages are expected to occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in areas including Effiduase, Apemso, Asekyerewa, Senkyi, Asenua, parts of Ahwiaa, Overseas, Maase, Simms SHS, parts of Fawoade, Adumakase Kese, Wawase, and Meduma.

Additional interruptions will affect parts of the Central and Volta regions. Depending on the specific location, outages may last from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. ECG stated these interventions are necessary to improve the reliability and quality of the national power distribution network and service delivery. The company has advised affected residents and businesses to make necessary arrangements and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
