Electricity issues and theft investigations reported in Romania

Distribuție Oltenia has announced scheduled power outages in the Bogați commune, specifically affecting the Glambocel village. The interruptions, planned for October 28, 2026, between 09:00 and 17:00, are intended to perform maintenance work to improve the safety, continuity, and quality of the electrical supply.

In a separate development, police from the Giurgiu County Inspectorate, in collaboration with energy distributors and gendarmes, conducted raids in the Clejani commune to combat electricity theft. The operation followed reports of massive power losses in the area. Authorities identified five criminal offenses involving the illegal use of clandestine installations to bypass equipment and tap into the distribution network. Criminal cases have been opened to determine the full extent of the damage and identify those responsible.
