Venezuela faces widespread electrical instability and power outages

Venezuela is experiencing widespread electrical instability, characterized by severe voltage fluctuations and prolonged power outages across multiple regions. In Lara state, voltage fluctuations reportedly spiked by over 81% in a single week. In the Torres municipality, outages have paralyzed urban sectors and agricultural communities, affecting critical institutions such as the Hospital Clínico Loyola and various security headquarters.

Nationwide reports indicate a chain of intense electrical fluctuations affecting the Capital District, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, Yaracuy, Zulia, Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo, Portuguesa, and Monagas. These incidents have disrupted communications and daily activities. In response to the crisis, the Association of Cattlemen of Táchira (Asogata) has established agreements with Chinese companies to import electrical plants, solar panels, and other equipment to mitigate the impact on the livestock sector.

While some regions like Carabobo await the recovery of electrical generation, the lack of technical explanations from authorities regarding the instability of the National Electric System (SEN) continues to be a point of concern for citizens and productive sectors.
