Electro Oriente officials skip meeting on Jaén power outages

The collective ‘Unidos por Jaén’ has criticized the absence of high-ranking officials from Electro Oriente during a meeting intended to address frequent power outages in both urban and rural areas of the Jaén province.

Josibel Fernández, a councilwoman for the Provincial Municipality of Jaén, described the absence of officials as a lack of respect toward users and representatives. Due to the lack of attendance, the meeting was suspended, and a new session has been scheduled in 15 days.

Community leaders, including Manuel Vásquez and Rafael Quiroz, stated they are seeking dialogue to secure commitments regarding service quality, infrastructure maintenance, and compensation for damaged appliances. The collective plans to hold an open meeting to allow the public to present their grievances directly.
