Electrolux initiates global restructuring and factory closures

Electrolux has launched a global restructuring program aimed at reducing costs and reorganizing its industrial structure. The company expects a net reduction of approximately 3,000 jobs over the next three years through a combination of facility closures, the transfer of industrial lines, and partnerships with other manufacturers.

The reorganization involves shifting production to more competitive and efficient units. This global strategy has already impacted several regions: the company ended industrial production in Chile, is preparing to close a refrigerator factory in Hungary, and has eliminated refrigerator manufacturing at a major unit in the United States. In the U.S., approximately 1,255 workers were affected, and the facility will transition to producing washing machines and dryers in partnership with Midea.

In contrast to these international cuts, Electrolux is maintaining its operations in Brazil, where it recently completed one of its largest historical investments in Latin America.
