Electromobility faces efficiency gaps and emission discrepancies

In 2023, these vehicles emitted up to 4.6 times more CO2 on the road than their official values, a gap that has widened since 2021 due to inaccurate utility factor assumptions in EU homologation.

In Mexico, TIP México is addressing the complexities of fleet electrification. As global electric vehicle sales surpassed 20 million units in 2025, the company is working with EMA to help businesses navigate different technologies, such as mild hybrids and full electric models. Experts emphasize that there is no single solution for all companies, and strategic decisions must be based on real-world efficiency, costs, and specific operational needs rather than just price or range.
