Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson receives $38 million bonus amid Battlefield 6 layoffs

Electronic Arts’ fiscal‑2026 report shows chief executive Andrew Wilson earned a total compensation package of $38,649,984, roughly a 27 % rise from the prior year. The board justified the payout by citing the commercial success of Battlefield 6, which met all milestones for a high‑quality launch, and strong performance of EA Sports FC. Net bookings for the year reached $8.026 billion.

Other senior officers also received large bonuses: President Laura Miele $13.7 million, CFO Stuart Canfield $11.3 million, Chief People Officer Mala Singh $8.3 million and Chief Legal Officer Jacob Schatz $8.4 million. At the same time, EA announced a third round of workforce reductions, laying off staff from DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect and Motive studios – cuts that affected employees in the United States and in Hyderabad, India. The contrast between executive payouts and the layoffs has sparked criticism from developers and gamers.

The compensation details were disclosed in EA’s Form 10‑K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which also noted that Wilson’s base salary remained at $1.3 million while the bulk of the increase came from stock awards, performance cash bonuses and other perks.
