Electronic Arts focuses on expanding The Sims 4 over new sequel

Electronic Arts has indicated that it does not currently plan to release a traditional successor titled ‘The Sims 5’. Instead, the company intends to focus on expanding and improving the existing ‘The Sims 4’ through continuous updates and expansions.

Since the franchise debuted in 2000, it has evolved through several generations, including the 3D graphics of ‘The Sims 2’ and the open-world mechanics of ‘The Sims 3’. Despite the long gap since the 2014 release of ‘The Sims 4’, the developer remains committed to the current title rather than launching a new numbered installment.
