Electronic Arts reportedly cancels Fight Night revival

Reports indicate that Electronic Arts (EA) has cancelled its planned revival of the Fight Night boxing series in its current form. According to sources from Insider Gaming, the project had progressed beyond the pre-production stage before development was paused and eventually abandoned approximately one year ago.

The development history of the title has been inconsistent. In 2021, reports suggested the project, codenamed ‘Moneyball’, had entered early development at EA Canada but was sidelined to allow staff to focus on the EA Sports UFC franchise. While fans anticipated a new Fight Night following the release of EA Sports UFC 6 in June 2026, the reported cancellation suggests the project was already defunct internally before that launch.

Although EA has not officially announced a cancellation, the current iteration of the reboot is reportedly dead. However, there is speculation that a completely new Fight Night project could still be discussed under EA’s new ownership structure.
