Electronic Arts sold to Saudi PIF and US investors in $55 billion deal

Electronic Arts has completed a sale of the entire company for roughly $55 billion. The transaction was funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) together with U.S. investment firms Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. EA chief executive Andrew Wilson said the deal positions the company to “invest boldly, drive innovation and develop the next generation of games for hundreds of millions of players.”

The acquisition makes EA a privately‑held firm, ending its listing on the NASDAQ. The deal, announced last September, is one of the largest in the video‑game sector and gives the Saudi sovereign fund a controlling stake in the global gaming leader, which reported $7.5 billion in revenue last year.
