Electronic Recycling Association expands to New Zealand

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is expanding its operations to New Zealand to address electronic waste and the digital divide. Using a reuse-first approach, the non-profit aims to partner with businesses, schools, charities, and community organizations to recover unwanted technology.

The organization focuses on extending the useful life of electronics, such as computers, laptops, smartphones, and tablets, through refurbishment and reuse before proceeding to responsible recycling. This initiative is designed to provide refurbished devices to those needing greater access to technology, thereby supporting education, employment, and community development.

Founded in Canada in 2004, the ERA utilizes internationally recognized certifications for information security, environmental responsibility, and quality management to oversee its IT asset management and secure data destruction processes.
