Elefsina knife attack: Two suspects surrender after assault on 32-year-old

Two suspects, aged 22 and 18, have surrendered to authorities following a violent knife attack on a 32-year-old man in Elefsina. The victim, who identifies with the political left, was attacked while walking his dogs and sustained serious injuries to his legs. He is currently receiving treatment at Tzaneio Hospital.

Investigators are treating the incident as a politically motivated attack. The suspects are allegedly linked to the far-right organization ‘propatria’. During the assault, witnesses and security footage indicate the attackers used extremist language, with one reportedly shouting ‘I am a fascist’. The victim stated that the attackers told him, ‘we are the bosses here’.

Police searches of the 22-year-old's residence uncovered several weapons and extremist materials, including stiletto knives, a brass knuckle, an anti-gas mask, and a flashbang. The 22-year-old faces charges of attempted murder with intent, along with weapons possession and illegal carry. The 18-year-old suspect also faces attempted murder charges. The 22-year-old suspect has claimed that the victim attacked him first, a claim currently under investigation.
