ELEMENT Nagaland holds Off-Taker Meet 2026 to boost market access
The ELEMENT Nagaland Project, under SoCRAN, organized the ‘Off-Taker Meet 2026’ in Kohima on October 7 to strengthen value chains and improve market access for local producers.
Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, Secretary of Industries & Commerce and Project Director of ELEMENT, emphasized that Nagaland’s biodiversity—including coffee, honey, large cardamom, Naga chilli, black rice, millets, medicinal plants, and wild fruits—offers significant potential for sustainable income. To maximize economic benefits, the project aims to support producer groups through aggregation, decentralized coffee processing, centralized honey processing, branding, and end-to-end enterprise development.
The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between producers and buyers. While producers require better clarity regarding quality grades, certification, packaging, and price benchmarks, buyers need improved visibility concerning supply capacity and consistency. The meet focused on establishing structured dialogue regarding quality assurance, traceability, and investment to ensure quality products reach reliable buyers at commercially viable prices.
