Elemental Holding denies waste recycling fraud allegations
Elemental Holding is facing allegations of involvement in a large-scale waste recycling fraud following an investigative report by TVN’s Superwizjer. The report claims the company participated in fictitious waste transports and the falsification of recycling documentation to generate illicit profits.
The scandal involves the POLVOLT project, a strategic initiative for recovering critical metals aimed at supporting the defense industry. The project was slated to receive a one-billion-zloty government subsidy. In response to the allegations, the Ministry of Development and Technology has frozen all public fund disbursements to Elemental Battery Metals Sp. z o.o. until investigations are concluded.
Elemental Holding has issued a strong denial, characterizing the report as a manipulation of facts and an attack on the company’s reputation. The company stated that its operations are subject to rigorous audits and that the reported incidents involve only small subsidiaries representing approximately 1.5 percent of its total revenue. The company has announced plans to pursue legal action against TVN.
Law enforcement agencies, including the National Prosecutor's Office and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚP), are currently investigating the matter. One manager associated with a subsidiary has reportedly been charged with falsifying over 4,000 waste transport documents.
