Elena Burguete to become President and CEO of Ford Iberia

Elena Burguete will become the new President and CEO of Ford Iberia, overseeing operations in Spain and Portugal, effective December 1. She succeeds Jesús Alonso, who is retiring after a career with the company dating back to 1986.

Burguete brings over 30 years of experience within the Ford Motor Company. Her previous roles include serving as the Director of Field Operations CX for Ford Europe, Director of Ford Pro (Commercial Vehicles) for Spain and Portugal, and various financial and marketing leadership positions within the organization.

This leadership transition occurs at a critical juncture for Ford's operations in the region, particularly regarding the Almussafes plant, which is preparing for the arrival of new partner Geely.
