Elena Ferrante unveils lecture collection 'An den Rändern' and revisits her Neapolitan saga

Italian writer Elena Ferrante, famed for the four‑book Neapolitan saga, released a new volume titled *An den Rändern*. The book compiles three lectures she delivered in 2021 at the University of Bologna as part of the “Lectiones magistrales” series, alongside a fourth text, “Dantes Rippe,” written for a Dante symposium. In the lectures Ferrante reflects on the tension between creative impulse and formal constraints, the challenges faced by women writers, and the search for an authentic narrative voice.

The author's earlier work, the third volume of the Neapolitan saga—*Historia de quem foge e de quem fica*—continues to be discussed. Set in 1960s‑70s Italy, it follows the divergent lives of Lenù (Elena Greco) and Lila (Rafaella Cerrullo), exploring themes of literary ambition, class struggle, and personal relationships against a backdrop of political unrest.
