Elena Medel to release new novel in September

Spanish writer Elena Medel is set to release her new book, ‘Todos mis pecados y la mitad de mi dolor’ (Seix Barral), in Spanish bookstores on September 16. This marks her first novel in six years following the success of her debut, ‘Las maravillas’ (Anagrama, 2020).

The new work was inspired by a poem by Lord Byron. Medel describes the writing process as one requiring significant time for reflection and documentation. The upcoming narrative explores themes of class, gender, the passage of time, and how labor shapes individual identity through complex, nuanced characters.
