Elena Rybakina wins Ningbo Open to claim fourth title of 2026

World number one Elena Rybakina successfully defended her Ningbo Open title with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Canada’s Leylah Fernandez. The win marks Rybakina’s 15th career WTA title and her fourth of the 2026 season, following victories at the Australian Open, Stuttgart, and the US Open.

Rybakina dominated the final in approximately 75 minutes, breaking Fernandez twice in each set while maintaining a perfect service record by saving all four break points she faced. This victory is particularly significant as it is her first tournament title since ascending to the world number one ranking.

The win strengthens her position in the race for the year-end number one spot. Rybakina is scheduled to compete next at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo before heading to the WTA Finals in Indian Wells.
