Rai 1 premieres third season of Teresa Battaglia

The third season of the Italian crime series ‘I Casi di Teresa Battaglia’, titled ‘Figlia della Cenere’, premiered on Rai 1 on October 12, 2026. Based on the novel by Ilaria Tuti and directed by Kiko Rosati, the eight-episode season follows profiler Teresa Battaglia, played by Elena Sofia Ricci, as she investigates a series of ritualistic murders in Udine. The killer targets individuals with hidden histories of violence against women, leaving victims with mutilated hands and crushed sternums.

In addition to the criminal investigation, the season explores personal themes, including Battaglia’s struggle with Alzheimer’s and the reappearance of her abusive ex-husband, Sebastiano.

Separately, actress Elena Sofia Ricci spoke in a recent interview about her personal history, discussing the difficulty of forgiving those who abused her when she was 12 years old and the ongoing challenge of self-forgiveness.
