Eleonora Abbagnato brings Icone della Danza gala to Rome

The prestigious dance gala ‘Icone della Danza’, conceived and directed by Eleonora Abbagnato, is scheduled to perform at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on October 26. Following a successful debut in Paris, the event aims to unite international ballet stars from the world’s leading companies on a single stage.

The program features a blend of classical and contemporary works, including pieces by choreographers such as Roland Petit, George Balanchine, and John Neumeier. Abbagnato, an étoile of the Paris Opera and director of the Rome Opera Ballet, will perform in several segments, including Roland Petit’s ‘La rose malade’ with Giacomo Castellana and John Neumeier’s ‘La Dame aux camélias’ with Osiel Gouneo.

Other featured international artists include Daniil Simkin, Lucia Lacarra, Nicoletta Manni, Iana Salenko, Victor Caixeta, and Maia Makhateli. Abbagnato stated that the project was born from a desire to share the “beauty, the emotion and the universal strength of dance” with the public.
