Eleonora Ghetti wins Qazaq Kuresi world title in Baku

Eleonora Ghetti has won the Qazaq Kuresi world title in the +77 kg category at the championships held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Representing Judo Mestre 2001 AS, Ghetti secured the gold medal after a dramatic final against Georgian athlete Elene Kebadze.

After an initial loss to Kebadze in her first match, Ghetti advanced through the competition by defeating an Indian opponent and winning her semifinal against a Kazakh champion in extra time. In the final match, Ghetti executed a 'taza' (ippon) in the closing seconds to secure the victory.

The Italian delegation, supported by FIKULT President Vittorio Giorgi and technical director Mattia Galbiati, also included athletes Gaia Daranuta, Paolo Valli, Francesco Pio Aidone, and Eugenio Sturniolo. This achievement follows Ghetti’s recent silver medal in the Gushtingiri world championships in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
