Andrea Rizzoli announces upcoming fatherhood in tribute to Eleonora Giorgi
Andrea Rizzoli, the eldest son of the late Italian actress Eleonora Giorgi, has announced that he and his wife, makeup artist Serena Meriggioli, are expecting their first child. The baby, a girl due in December, will be named Eleonora in honor of her grandmother.
During an appearance on the television program Verissimo, Rizzoli and his brother, Paolo Ciavarro, shared the news while also reflecting on the memory of their mother. Eleonora Giorgi passed away on March 3, 2025, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. The announcement coincides with the period surrounding what would have been the actress's 73rd birthday.
Andrea Rizzoli, a 46-year-old television author and producer, married Meriggioli on May 2, 2024. The family had previously moved their wedding date forward to ensure Giorgi could participate in the ceremony despite her declining health.
