Dionisio Manuel Cáceres Cabrera arrested in Paraguay

Dionisio Manuel Cáceres Cabrera, known as 'Manu', has been arrested in Itacurubí de la Cordillera, Paraguay. The arrest was carried out by the National Police as part of Operation Nexus II, an investigation aimed at dismantling the local networks associated with the transnational criminal structure of Sebastián Marset.

Cáceres Cabrera, 38, was wanted under two arrest warrants for violations of drug laws. Investigators identified him as a strategic logistical and financial link within the criminal organization. He reportedly used proceeds from drug trafficking to establish himself as a football businessman, serving as the sports manager for the club Rubio Ñu.

Additionally, authorities allege he facilitated the connection and incorporation of Sebastián Marset into the Deportivo Capiatá club during Marset's time in the country. The operation follows previous investigations into the criminal network, which also involved other figures in Paraguayan football, such as former goalkeeper Víctor Centurión.
