Eleven Sports Network granted license for new WTA-focused channel

The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has granted Eleven Sports Network a license for a new satellite sports channel named Eleven Extra. The station is expected to begin broadcasting in early 2027.

The new channel will primarily focus on the WTA Tour, as Eleven Sports Network has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the women's tennis circuit in Poland for the years 2027–2031. This package includes WTA 1000, WTA 500, and WTA 250 tournaments, as well as the season-ending WTA Finals. Currently, through the end of 2026, these rights are held by Canal+ Polska.

To manage the high volume of simultaneous matches, the broadcaster plans to expand its tennis editorial team by hiring dozens of new employees. While tennis is expected to be the cornerstone of the schedule, the channel may also host other sporting events that cannot be accommodated on the four existing Eleven Sports channels.
