Elham Shahin supports Ahmed El Fishawy amid career uncertainty

Egyptian actress Elham Shahin has publicly expressed her full support for actor Ahmed El Fishawy following his recent psychological struggles and expressed desire to withdraw from the acting profession. During a seminar at the Hurghada Youth Film Festival, Shahin addressed El Fishawy’s situation, noting that his desire to distance himself from art may be linked to the grief following the death of his mother, actress Somaya El Alfi.

Shahin defended the nobility of the acting profession, stating, “Art does not deserve repentance, it is a source of pride.” She shared her own personal experience with depression and isolation following her mother's passing to empathize with El Fishawy’s current state.

In response to her support, El Fishawy expressed deep gratitude toward Shahin, citing their long history of collaboration in films such as ‘Wahed Zero’ and ‘Yom Lel Settat’. He also announced that he is looking forward to a new artistic project with Shahin, marking their fourth professional collaboration.
