Eli Lilly Q2 Revenue Jumps 48% on Obesity Drug Sales
Eli Lilly reported second‑quarter 2026 revenue of $23 billion, a 48 percent increase year over year, driven primarily by its obesity‑treatment portfolio. Sales of the diabetes drug Mounjaro rose 91 percent to $9.9 billion and sales of the weight‑loss drug Zepbound grew 44 percent to $4.9 billion. Together the two GLP‑1 medicines account for roughly two‑thirds of the company’s quarterly revenue.
The company said worldwide realized prices for its weight‑loss drugs fell 13 percent, with a 3 percent decline in the United States and a 36 percent drop outside the U.S., largely due to the addition of Mounjaro to China’s national reimbursement list. Lilly raised its full‑year 2026 revenue outlook to $85‑87 billion, up from $82‑85 billion. It also launched an oral obesity pill, Foundayo, which generated $98 million in sales, short of the $105.6 million analysts had expected.
