Eli Lilly partners with Resilience on $750 million US drug‑manufacturing expansion
Eli Lilly and privately held contract manufacturer Resilience announced a $750 million investment to expand pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity in the United States. The partnership, which began in 2023, aims to strengthen the domestic medicine supply chain as U.S. policy moves toward tariffs on branded drugs unless they are produced locally.
The expansion will add production of critical medicines, create 400 new high‑skill jobs in the Cincinnati, Ohio region, and incorporate Lilly’s KwikPen injectable device for diabetes and obesity treatment. To date, the collaboration has produced more than 150 million doses for U.S. patients in vial and pre‑filled syringe formats. Lilly’s U.S. capital‑expansion commitments since 2020 total over $55 billion, and the company plans to break ground on several newly announced manufacturing sites this year.
