Eli Roth's Horror Film 'Ice Cream Man' Debuts August 7

Director Eli Roth and co‑writer Noah Belson have released the horror movie Ice Cream Man, opening in U.S. theaters on August 7. The film follows a mysterious ice‑cream vendor whose treats turn children into violent killers, a premise Roth says was inspired by a 2003 press tour for his earlier film Cabin Fever.

The cast includes Ari Millen as the titular ice‑cream man, alongside Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche and others. Produced by Roth’s company The Horror Section, the film features executive producer rapper Nas and music contributions from Snoop Dogg. Roth emphasized that the story is not based on a true incident, describing it as a blend of childhood nostalgia and a “Pied Piper”‑style horror twist. An unrated director’s cut is being shown in major cinema chains.

The movie is marketed as an extreme, gory entry in Roth’s filmography, aiming for a higher body count than his previous works.
