Eli Tomac to retire from professional motocross and supercross

Eli Tomac, a prominent figure in American motocross and supercross, has announced his retirement from professional competition. The 33-year-old racer will conclude his career following the final three rounds of the 2026 SMX post-season.

Over a career spanning 17 professional seasons that began in 2010, Tomac has secured numerous major titles. His achievements include four AMA Pro Motocross 450MX championships (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and two AMA Supercross 450SX championships (2020, 2022). He also earned the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship title in the SX1 class.

Tomac holds several significant records, including eight victories at the Daytona Supercross and 57 career 450SX Main Event wins, placing him second on the all-time list. Additionally, he captained Team USA to a victory at the 2022 Motocross of Nations. Currently racing with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Tomac stated that deciding to retire was the most difficult choice of his professional career.
