Elias Gish leads FEU to victory over UE in UAAP basketball

Rookie Elias Gish recorded a career-high 13 points, six rebounds, and four stocks to help the FEU Tamaraws defeat the UE Red Warriors, 94-83, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on November 4.

The victory moves FEU to a 6-4 record, tying them with La Salle for third place and keeping their Final Four aspirations alive. Conversely, the loss eliminates UE from postseason contention, extending their losing streak to 30 games dating back to Season 87.

FEU players Jorick Bautista and Mo Konateh also contributed significantly, with Bautista scoring 18 points and Konateh recording 15 points and 19 rebounds. FEU head coach Sean Chambers praised Gish, a 6-foot-7 guard from Fresno, California, describing him as a “phenomenal talent” who is ready for increased responsibility.

Gish, who previously played for Gilas Pilipinas Youth, noted that he is still adapting to the Philippine basketball system and league officiating.
