Elias Löder wins August Goal of the Month

Elias Löder of FC Carl Zeiss Jena has been awarded the Goal of the Month for August after receiving 31 percent of the votes. The 26-year-old striker secured the honor over nominees Nadiem Amiri of 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Tim Skarke of 1. FC Union Berlin.

The winning goal occurred during a DFB-Pokal match against SV Darmstadt 98. Löder controlled a long ball approximately 30 meters from the goal, turned toward the net, and struck a looping shot that flew over goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen into the top corner. Despite the spectacular strike, Jena lost the match 2-1.

This marks the second time Löder has won this prestigious award. His first occurred in July 2021 while playing for Germania Halberstadt, where he scored a side-volley against Hertha BSC II. He is the third player from FC Carl Zeiss Jena to receive this recognition.
