Eliezer Ntambwe reports on veteran reforms and school supply donations

Eliezer Ntambwe Mposhi, the Minister Delegate to the Ministry of National Defense in charge of Veterans, has highlighted key achievements during his first year in office and launched a social initiative for students.

As part of the ‘Tangisa mwana kelasi’ operation, Ntambwe and his non-profit, ‘Pesa moninga sourire’, distributed school supplies including bags, notebooks, pens, and water bottles to over 2,000 children in Kinshasa. The initiative aims to support families with the costs of the 2026-2027 school year and encourages students to pursue excellence through hard work.

Regarding his ministerial duties, Ntambwe reported progress in managing veterans' affairs through a four-pillar strategy: identification, heritage management, social and medical care, and legal framework reform. A central component of this reform is a nationwide biometric identification process designed to clean the national registry and ensure that benefits reach legitimate former combatants rather than fraudulent claimants. The minister also noted advancements in the disarmament and reintegration of ex-combatants involved in the Mobondo phenomenon in the Grand Bandundu region.
