Elio Quiroga completes psychological horror film ‘Malos sueños’

Director Elio Quiroga has completed his latest psychological horror film, ‘Malos sueños’, which is scheduled for release in early 2027. The film was written by Quiroga and Antonio Trashorras.

Starring Kimberley Tell and Andrés Velencoso, the plot follows a writer who travels to a building in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria seeking inspiration, only to encounter supernatural events. The production, handled by Womack Studios and Rodar y Rodar, was filmed over five weeks in Gran Canaria, utilizing locations such as the Museo Canario in Vegueta.

Quiroga describes the film as a blend of innovative horror and human relationships, drawing stylistic comparisons to the works of David Lynch and John Carpenter, while also referencing classic horror influences.
