Elio Vittorini Literary Prize to hold week-long events in Sicily

The 25th edition of the Elio Vittorini National Literary Prize and the 60th anniversary of the author's death will be commemorated with a week-long program from September 7 to 12. The event includes talks, author meetings, book presentations, and exhibitions.

The festivities will culminate on Saturday, September 12, with an award ceremony at the Antico Mercato di Ortigia. The program also features the 7th Arnaldo Lombardi Prize for independent publishing. Special activities include a philatelic exhibition and the issuance of a commemorative stamp on September 11.

Additionally, an artistic-documentary exhibition titled ‘La libertà irrequieta’ will be hosted at the Elio Vittorini library-museum in Syracuse from September 8 to October 2, exploring the journeys of Elio Vittorini and Rosa Quasimodo.
