Elisa Claps case: Family continues pursuit of truth decades after murder

The family of Elisa Claps continues their decades-long pursuit of truth regarding the 1993 disappearance of the 16-year-old in Potenza, Italy. Elisa's remains were discovered in 2010 in the attic of the Santissima Trinità church, where she had been since her disappearance. Her brothers, Gildo and Luciano, maintain that significant omissions and unanswered questions remain regarding the circumstances of her death and the handling of the case.

In a gesture of remembrance and reconciliation, Archbishop Davide Carbonaro of Potenza-Muro Lucano-Marsico Nuovo recently prayed at Elisa's grave. While the gesture serves as an act of spiritual memorial, the case continues to cast shadows over the local Curia due to allegations that information may have been withheld during the 17 years before her remains were found. Danilo Restivo has been identified as the individual responsible for the murder.

The case has maintained significant public interest, recently being featured in a popular podcast and an upcoming docuseries on Sky TG24 and Sky Crime.
