Italian accountants oppose bill extending financial filing rights to labor consultants

Professional orders of accountants and tax experts in Sicily and Umbria have expressed formal support for the position of the National Council of Chartered Accountants and Tax Experts (CNDCEC). They are opposing provisions within the Competition Bill (Ddl Concorrenza) that seek to extend the authority to file corporate financial statements and certify their conformity to original documents to labor consultants.

Representatives argue that filing financial statements is not a mere digital task but a professional function involving legal publicity and significant responsibility. They contend that this duty should remain with accountants, whose training specifically covers corporate, economic, and accounting disciplines, whereas labor consultants traditionally focus on employment law, social security, and personnel administration.
