Eliseo Fernández Oviedo to leave Luque Municipal Council

Eliseo Fernández Oviedo is stepping down from the Luque Municipal Council in Paraguay after serving three consecutive terms. His departure follows a failure to secure reelection during the Colorado Party primaries held on June 7.

Fernández Oviedo, the nephew of the late General Lino César Oviedo, began his political career in 2010 with the Unace party before joining the Asociación Nacional Republicana (ANR). Following the recent elections, he has joined the campaign team of Hugo Farías, the newly elected mayor of Luque, though his specific role in the upcoming administration remains unconfirmed.
