Elixir compilation tracers used to automate import-to-alias rewriting

Developers have implemented a tool called import2alias to automatically rewrite imports to aliases within the Hex.pm codebase. This process utilizes compilation tracers, a feature introduced in Elixir v1.10, to identify and transform module imports.

While Elixir v1.11 and later versions no longer treat imports as compile-time dependencies—reducing the necessity of this conversion for recompilation speed—the tool remains useful for improving code readability and exploring the capabilities of compilation tracers.
