Elizabeth Moselakgomo murdered after disappearance during run

During a funeral service in Phake, Mpumalanga, eight-year-old Khumo Moselakgomo delivered an emotional tribute to her mother, Elizabeth ‘Tsontso’ Moselakgomo, who was murdered earlier this month.

Elizabeth Moselakgomo, 38, disappeared after leaving her Kempton Park home for an afternoon run on September 9, 2026. Her body was discovered three days later in the Rhodesfield area. During the service, Khumo spoke of the pain of her mother's absence and promised to carry her memory in her heart.

The death of Elizabeth Moselakgomo is part of a broader investigation into the deaths of nine women across Ekurhuleni within a nine-week period. Local communities have raised over R100,000 to support Khumo’s education as calls for increased safety and action against violence grow.
