Elizabeth Waddell missing after Grenada beach swim; family sees no foul play

Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, a 43‑year‑old physical therapist from Cary, North Carolina, disappeared on 22 July 2026 while vacationing on the Caribbean island of Grenada. Surveillance footage from an Airbnb security camera shows her walking near Grand Anse Beach around noon, entering the water, and later appearing farther from shore at about 5:30 p.m.

Her husband, Cailen Waddell, has publicly stated that he believes there was no foul play. He traveled to Grenada to assist authorities, who have been conducting an active search that includes dive teams, drones, and a K‑9 unit. The Royal Grenada Police Force, in coordination with the U.S. Embassy, continues to appeal for information. A fundraising website, FindLiz.com, has raised more than $18,000 to support the effort, and the Cary community has been praying for her safe return.
