Bulgarian tennis player Elizara Yaneva has reached a career-high WTA ranking of No. 166 after climbing four positions. The 19-year-old is set to make her debut in the US Open qualifying rounds in New York.

Yaneva faces Czech player Lucie Havlíčková in the first round of the qualifiers. This match serves as a rematch of their previous encounter in Turnava, Slovakia, where Havlíčková won after a dramatic third-set tiebreak. To reach the main draw, Yaneva must secure three consecutive victories.

Other notable shifts in Bulgarian women's tennis include Rositsa Dencheva rising to No. 299, becoming the country's second-highest ranked player. Lidiya Encheva also saw a significant jump of 87 places following a final appearance at a W75 tournament, moving to No. 363.
