Željka Cvijanović faces criticism over delayed veto in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Želimir Nešković, a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has criticized Željka Cvijanović, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regarding her recent veto on the formation of the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments.

Nešković argues that Cvijanović’s veto is problematic because it was exercised five months after the Presidency had already made decisions in January regarding the Commission’s structure and the return of foreign members. He questioned whether the delay was due to negligence or a political arrangement intended to ease pressure on Milorad Dodik. Nešković stated that Cvijanović failed to act institutionally at the appropriate time, which he claims makes her an unreliable representative for the interests of Republika Srpska.
