Željko Budimir barred from mayoral post after police pressure in Divlje pčele
In the village of Divlje pčele, Željko Budimir (nicknamed Brico) won the local election for chief, securing the confidence of voters. Shortly after the results were announced, he was summoned by the militia for an "informational interview" where an inspector told him he would not be allowed to assume the position, pressuring him to step aside in favor of the authorities' preferred candidate.
Facing intimidation, Budimir withdrew his claim to the office, leaving the community shocked. The role was subsequently filled by Zdravko Šušnjara, who expressed reluctance and disappointment at taking a post he was not elected to, fearing he would be seen as a betrayer by the residents.
