Elk Range Mining begins maiden drilling at Idaho gold mine

Elk Range Mining is launching its first diamond drilling program at the Friday gold mine in Idaho. The maiden phase will consist of eight holes totaling approximately 2,850 meters, aimed at validating historical high-grade mineralization and testing for extensions along the strike and at depth.

The project is located within the Orogrande Shear Zone, a significant structural corridor. The Friday mine is a brownfields site that previously produced gold from May 2020 to February 2022 before being placed on care and maintenance due to COVID-19 disruptions. The site includes existing underground development, processing infrastructure, and established facilities.

Following a successful $10 million Initial Public Offering (IPO), Elk Range Mining intends to use the funds to revitalize the Idaho gold project. Historical data for the Friday site indicates a significant mineralized system, with previous estimates suggesting 758,000 tonnes grading 5.91 grams per tonne of gold. The company has executed a drilling agreement with Black Cloud Drilling to commence operations.
