elka Holzwerke celebrates 120 years with major new investment

elka Holzwerke recently celebrated its 120th anniversary with a company festival in Hunolstein. Founded by Ludwig Kuntz in 1906, the company has evolved from a hardwood sawmill into a diverse wood products enterprise, surviving two world wars and various economic crises.

Managing Director Karl-Robert Kuntz emphasized that the company’s longevity is due to its willingness to adapt and change product lines as market demands shift. To secure its future, elka is currently undertaking one of its largest single investments to date: the construction of a new particle board plant, involving a high double-digit million euro investment.
