Elkana Bohbot and wife welcome baby girl after release from captivity

Elkana Bohbot, a former Israeli hostage released from Hamas captivity, and his wife Rivka have welcomed a baby girl. The couple announced the birth on social media, sharing a photograph from the hospital.

Bohbot was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, during the Nova music festival and spent 738 days in captivity before his release on October 13, 2025. He previously authored a book titled ‘738 Days in Hamas Captivity’ detailing his struggle for survival. The couple noted that while the pregnancy initially brought mixed emotions as they processed trauma, they ultimately viewed the birth as a miracle.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog congratulated the family, describing the birth as ‘the true victory’ and wishing them a life of serenity and health.
