Elkins City Council adopts updated comprehensive plan
The Elkins City Council has adopted an updated comprehensive plan, concluding a review and public engagement process that began in 2023. The new plan replaces the city’s 2015 version and aims to address current community needs and conditions.
Developed with assistance from the West Virginia University Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic, the plan focuses on six primary areas: public safety, housing, infrastructure and transportation, economic development, land use and community character, and technology and city services. Specific recommendations include supporting emergency services, improving pedestrian safety, maintaining water and sewer systems, and modernizing city technology.
