Elkjøp utilizes massive logistics hub in Torsvik for Nordic distribution

Elkjøp (operating as Elgiganten in Sweden) utilizes two massive logistics facilities in Torsvik, Sweden, as the hub for its Nordic distribution chain, reaching approximately 80 percent of the region's population.

The logistics complex consists of two main buildings located on either side of the E4 highway. The western building spans 107,000 square meters and features 85 loading docks and a fleet of roughly 200 forklifts. The second building, measuring 86,000 square meters, was constructed with a wooden frame to reduce environmental impact and serves the Epoq kitchen brand.

Nordson serves as a major supplier to the company, providing glue applicators used in the packaging process. While smaller e-commerce items like headphones are packed manually, larger retail goods are processed via robotic systems to optimize space. Technical Team Leader Jorge Leyton emphasized the importance of equipment uptime and availability, particularly during peak seasons when processing speeds increase.
