Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Breaks Chart Record, Seen at World Cup

Ella Langley’s single “Choosin’ Texas” has logged 11 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest run ever for a female country artist, and has remained atop the Hot Country Songs chart for 29 weeks. The record‑breaking crossover hit also reclaimed the Hot 100 summit after the U.S. men’s national soccer team played the song on their bus following a 1‑0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina that sent them to the World Cup round of 16. Players Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Antonee Robinson and Christian Pulisic joined in a filmed sing‑along, and the track’s lyrics were even quoted by UK commentator Sam Matterface during a later match.

The song’s popularity has boosted Langley’s touring schedule. Her “Dandelion Tour” was expanded with 21 additional U.S. concerts, running from August 20 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to a Halloween finale in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The added dates feature rotating support acts and reflect her rapid rise after the release of her chart‑topping sophomore album “Dandelion.”
